Stories of Magic and Danger from a Man Who Photographs Abandoned Mines

Explore the abandoned mines of Slovakia with photographer Albert Russ as he shares the rewards of capturing these beautiful, dangerous locations.

Photographer Albert Russ has descended into some of Slovakia’s most mysterious and beautiful abandoned mines. Usually, he enters through a tiny passageway left by other explorers. The burrows are small for a few reasons; first, the main entranceway has often collapsed, and second, the best spots are kept secret and tucked away from the general public. You have to know exactly what you’re looking for in order to find it.

Once Russ is inside the mine, he’s enveloped by complete darkness. The entrance becomes nothing more than a speck of light in the distance. He has no mobile signal, and most of the time there’s someone waiting on the outside just in case he doesn’t return by a specified time. Read More [Click Here].
